Earrings
notwork interlacings (190E, 172, 171 etc.) owe much of their perfection and beauty to the use of mathematical formulae and are peculiar to British art. Many are inspired by the simply beauty of Celtic patterns adorning standing stones in the West Highlands. Zoomorphics are designs where animal forms were deliberately distorted (176), as were plants (175) to avoid breaking the Commandment forbidding the accurate copying of any living thing whether of land, sea or air. All earrings are for pierced ears only except for 85E which are also available as clips.
